An initial high pressure ensures rapid, complete filling of the complex, often bulbous cavity geometry, preventing short shots. This is immediately followed by a precisely controlled lower holding pressure. This phase is critical; too much pressure can cause flash or overpacking, leading to stress concentrations, while too little can result in sink marks or incomplete filling.
